In the desert, with no light pollution, you can use maximum ISO and maximum shutter - ISO1600 1 minute. Which ISO and shutter speed do you recommend I start with? Not as good as gopro though! If you have the money buy a gopro and if you want non-distortion lenses I would just buy a peau.Any recommendation for taking pictures of stars, I am going to a desert next week and I hope I could take nice stars pictures. Might be good, but I like the sjcam because it's a gopro clone and a good one. Haven't used that vivatar, but I know for sure those rc guys will have a bunch of detailed reviews on it.

You think that kiteboarders like to take videos and know a little bit about video we have nothing on the drone guys, they know their video shit inside and out. If you want pages and pages and pages of reviews of action cameras, the firmware options, the quality etc etc, go toĪnd look in the groups they have for action cameras. You need to buy your sjcam from banggood if you want to make sure you get an authentic camera. Yes, a clone of a clone, people are faking the sjcam which is a fake of the gopro. Warning, if you go on ebay or other internet sites and buy a "sjcam action" camera there's a good chance you won't get one you'll get a clone with inferior parts. In my opinion the sjcam is your best el-cheap gopro, I don't like any of the other clones, they don't seem to be that high quality. However, all the bolt sizes are exactly the same and if you buy extra lenses like for instance the peau lens for non-distortion video, it has the same thread size on the sjcam and the gopro. There is a slight difference in the stick on mounts for the sjcam, if you use a stick on sjcam mount you can't slide your gopro on it because it has an extra piece of plastic, but you can slide the sjcam right into the gopro stick ons. Every single mount you have for gopro will work on your sjcam cameras. The sj4000 should have the exact same dimensions as the old gopro, like the 1 or 2. Anyone with experience with these two or with an opinion based on research, I offer a penny for your thoughts! Are they secretly the same (possibility) cam from the same factory just rebranded? The 787 is available at my local Walmart tho.

People seem to complain the 787 has bad optics. So, for the same $65, which of the two is better? I generally try to avoid taking money into the ocean with me as the wind and water goods seem to enjoy nabbing my stuff as involuntary donations towards their entertainment. Anyone do this shopping already? All the threads on the subject seem dominated by individuals using the vids for some type of actual promotions and thus insistent on a higher quality than what I need. Right now I am looking at the Vivitar 787 and the SJ4000 as cheapo action cams that can take basic footage. That being said, its cool to have and its a nice instructional tool to show people what they are doing (straighten that front leg!, point closer in!, etc.)

None of this footage will ever make it to a professional photo shoot or marketing campaign unless its a bloopers/America's Funniest Home Videos take. Ok, so I want to buy an inexpensive waterproof action cam so I can take video of myself and my students.
